It’s that time of year again, when winter storms lash our coast and bring with them that sad reminder of the vast quantity of plastic pollution present in our oceans. It’s a truly global problem which can often seem overwhelming, but getting out there and helping to keep your local beach clean can make a huge difference to the wildlife that calls it home!
‘Plast Off’ beach clean events are fast becoming legendary in North Wales, and this year South and West Wales are joining in the fun as well! These events are a great, social way to do your bit for local wildlife – and are suitable for all ages so the whole family can get involved!
Come along and join the #LivingSeas Team from The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales at Overton Mere on Friday the 21st of February, anytime from 10:00 until 13:00. We’ll be meeting on the beach, and will have staff and volunteers on hand to brief and equip all members of the public who want to get stuck in!
‘Plast Off 2020’ will be taking place across Wales on Friday 21st February, at the following locations:
- North Wales – between 11:00 and 15:00 at Aberffraw.
- West Wales – between 11:00 and 15:00 at Llanrhystud North (Pengarreg Caravan Park).
- South Wales – between 10:00 and 13:00 at Overton Mere.
All you need to bring is a ‘can-do’ attitude and plenty of warm waterproof clothing – we’ll provide the rest!
We hope to see you there!
